More information about the Staff
Hi I’m Marlene
I have worked at Little Oak for 16 years and in August 2014 I became the manager after working a number of years as the deputy.
Whilst working here I went back to college part time and gained a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies and then went on to achieve my Early Years Professional Status. Before working here I worked in other nurseries and for a time I was a Nanny which I enjoyed very much.
I am the mother of two girls and a little boy who attended as did my middle younger girl. I am very proud to say that my eldest daughter has followed in my footsteps qualifying in childcare and now working alongside me at Little Oak.
My husband Neil is one of the directors here at the pre-school.
Hi I’m Nicola.
I have worked at Little Oak for 9 years but have been involved for many more. As a parent I started helping as a volunteer where I was also the secretary in the days when Little Oak was run by a committee. I was recently happy to take on my new role of deputy manager which is an exciting role to have. All three of my children have attended Little Oak which is part of the reason the pre-school is so close to my heart. Childcare is my absolute passion and working with children in the early years is so rewarding, watching as they all develop their own little characters. I have worked in local nurseries and as a local children's gym club leader, which were all valuable experiences in helping me to get to where I am today.
My name is Naomi and I am a mum of two. I also have five brothers and sisters of whom I am the eldest. I had lots of experience looking after them and then my nieces, nephews and younger cousins when they were growing up. I also helped in a primary school for a year with children in year one, two and foundation stage while studying for my NVQ II at college. I am now qualified to NVQ level III. I’ve worked with children with special educational needs and have loved every minute of it. Both my children also attended Little Oak and I have very fond memories of their time here.
Hi my name is Bryony.
I have two children one of which has been to little Oak and loved every minute of it and my other child is still attending. I have also worked for a company specialising in developing gross motor skills, core balance and co-ordination in children for 3 years which helps children with their physical development. I can use my skills gained there to help with the development of children I come into contact with.
I started as a parent volunteer at Little Oak and then as an employed lunchtime assistant since January 2015 and in May I started working with children with Special Education Needs. I enjoy interacting with children and seeing them develop, laugh, play and gain small amounts of growing independence to carry them through life.
Hi. I'm Sarah
I have been working at Little Oak since 2011 though I've been connected to the pre-school since 2007 when my daughter attended and subsequently my son, both of whom have happy memories of their time here. I qualified in childcare many years ago and have worked in different fields throughout my adult life and feel very fortunate now to have come back to doing something I enjoy and find rewarding.
Hello my name is Anita.
I began working at Little Oak as a volunteer and was then taken on as an employee.
I left Little Oak for a few months in 2017 but happy to say I am now back and in my new role. I cover for staff away through sickness and trainings. I also work with some children that have additional needs.
Hi my name is Natalie and I have been working at Little Oak Pre-school since June 2019. Previously I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in Reception, in Year One, in an After School Club and on a one to one basis with a child with Special Educational Needs in an Oxford Primary School. I am the mother of two children, a boy and a girl and have spent the last few years focusing solely on enjoying their childhood and preparing them for school. They are now both in school full time and this is my first role back at work. I am working as cover/support staff on a part time basis and look forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to the team. I am passionate and caring and can’t wait to help the children at Little Oak to develop.
I am a qualified practitioner and hold a Cache Level III Diploma in Childcare and Education.
Hi, I’m Chloe. I have always had a great interest in childcare and knew from a very young age that childcare is what I wanted to pursue. I qualified from college with Childcare and Education Level 3 in 2014. I’ve done a lot of babysitting for various families, including my two younger siblings and have had experience for 3 years so far with working with children between the ages of 0-5 years in a nursery environment. At Little Oaks I am thoroughly enjoying looking after the 2-4’s and getting to know them and their families. I love seeing them learning and developing and seeing their personalities coming through. I am enjoying working as part of a very close and dedicated team of staff, including being able to work alongside my mum who is the manager.
Hi my name is Rachael and I am the administrator at Little Oak. I came here originally planning to stay for two terms to help out and have ended staying for 4 years and counting. I enjoy my job and I love it when the children greet me and call out my name. I have a real soft spot for all of them.
I am a mum of three and have two girls and a boy. Two of my children attended Little Oak Pre-school and I did a spell on the committe as treasurer and fundraiser.
My husband was in charge of all the planning aspects when the pre-school replaced its old building with this newer one.
